March Holiday Madness

March brings the green holidays. We start to awaken from our winter slumberings to thoughts of little men dancing around a pot of gold, and we celebrate this day by drinking green beer and pinching each other. If you celebrate Lent, you should have your last hurrah on Fat Tuesday or Mardi Gras on the 8th. Then Ash Wednesday follows on the 9th. This month the math clubbers among us will celebrate Pi Day on the 14th. If you don't know why, you can also celebrate, because Pi Day is the official nerd litmus test for the world. On the 15th you can beware the Ides of March and mutter "Et tu, Brute?" to your best friend. St. Patrick's Day on the 17th is immediately followed by the Goddess of Fertility Day on the 18th and then the Vernal Equinox, the first day of Spring, on the 20th -- which is also International Earth Day. Start choreographing your midnight dance moves now. The Jewish Spring holiday season also starts on the 20th with Purim, the holiday that involves dressing up, getting drunk and eating cookies. The astrological year begins on the equinox when the moon moves into the first sign of the Zodiac, Aries, the Ram. The Greek god Ares is the Roman God Mars for whom the month of March is named. Between the 12th Century and 1752, March 25th was the day the year changed in England and Ireland. Lastly, in semi-accordance with the holidays of fertility and rebirth, March is Women's History Month. Celebrate the women in your life and your past and read an Alice Paul biography (or, at least read the wikipedia entry). Of course, it doesn't need to be a holiday to send a rattlebox card. Happy March!

Helpful Halloween Advice

You know that moment in the movie -- the phone rings again, the floorboards creak in the attic, there is a loud knock on the door -- and it is as if the babysitter/teenager/curious secretary has never seen a horror film before because, even though we are all screaming at them "Don't Answer the Phone!" "Don't Go Into the Attic!" "Don't Open the Door!" -- they do. Every time! To honor that wonderfully frustrating moment when seemingly intelligent people do really stupid things around Halloween, we have made a series of rattlebox cards for you to remind your friends. You know, just in case they find themselves in the middle of a Halloween nightmare this year. Here is the very first one. Hope you -- ah, like it.

Cinco de Mayo

Link

We hope one way you'll be celebrating is by sending some Cinco de Mayo e-cards this week! We also hope you'll be in as good of company as these guys were! So stock up on some Dos Equis, break out your best bottle of tequila, and let's pour one out in honor of the Mexican army's amazing victory at the Battle of Puebla!

Oh, and one last thing: enjoy some War!

Behind the Scenes at Rattlebox.com

A little sneak peak into the creation of our talking e-cards. Morgan graciously donated her eyes and lips to a cow in need. Plucking the eyes and mouths off our team at rattlebox and placing them on inanimate objects is always a good time! Stay tuned for new talking ecards on the site very soon! Enjoy!

Oh, Mother

Rattlebox Mother's Day e-Cards

Mother's Day is approaching. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but there's no escape! Whether Mom lives down the street (you poor thing) or is sunbathing on a sailboat off the coast of Tuscany, it's time to muster up some appreciation and send some love her way. If you find yourself rummaging through the greeting card aisle of your local supermarket disappointed with the boring, traditional, sappy, seen-it-all-before selection of paper greeting cards, you've come to the right place. Especially because our e-cards do not require licking any of those icky envelope-sealing glue strips! Actually, rattlebox is always the right place when it comes to searching for pleasant little visual bits of sarcasm, edge, creativity, and great Ecard humor.

And even though her dissuasion didn't keep you from hanging out (and having the time of your life) with the evil and dangerous bad boy types like these guys, Mother's Day is the time to thank Mom for trying to discourage you from all the things you were going to do anyway! Enjoy some delicious Danzig while you're choosing your mom's Mother's Day rattlebox e card!
