Oh Hai - It's the Rattlebox Blogger!

my kid and me
I am a new voice here inside the Rattlebox. If you are reading this, you may already know me as a mommy blogger, a travel writer, a guide for parents of preschoolers in the San Fernando Valley, or that chick from Twitter whose link was tweeted by Neil Gaiman. Or you may not know any of those things, and wonder "Why should I care?"
Well, you should care because by bringing me on board to blog and tweet for them, the Box is showing that it is paying attention to its users. You are internet savvy. You have blogs, you use Facebook, you tweet, you stumble. You're moms, dads, kids, people, and some dogs. Woof!
And you don't suck. That is why we like you. Tell your friends, tell your friends' friends, and help Rattlebox save the world from tree-killing paper greeting cards!

Feliz Cinco de Mayo!
Hola Rattleboxers!
We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Cinco de Mayo!

However, we'd also like to remind you that every day is a great day to send out a Rattlebox card. In addition to cards for occasions like birthdays, anniversaries and holidays, we have plenty of cards that can be sent out "just because." Check out our "Thinking of You" and "Random" categories for inspiration. Or if you're feeling a little more naughty or perverse, browse in "Provocative" and "Insults." And if you think of some great sentiments that we're missing, shoot us an email at rattleus@rattlebox.com. Of course, since the cards are all endlessly editable, you can use Rattlebox to say pretty much anything at all!

Rattlebox on Facebook
We've gotten a few queries as to whether we'll be developing a Facebook application, and the answer is YES! In order to be kept apprised of this and other exciting Rattlebox developments, please become a fan of Rattlebox on Facebook - simply type www.rattlebox.com into the search bar in Facebook, and our fan page will pop up. If you do that, we'll certainly be dancing in your honor...

Thanks, as always, for using Rattlebox for your ecard needs!

Always Free, Always Fun

You'd have to be living under a rock to not realize that we're going through some trying financial times right now. (Can we join you under the rock? Is it warm? Is it dry?) Well, Rattlebox is here to save the day - or at least a few bucks. Here are our top five free things to do...I bet you can guess what number one is!
5. Rock out - have a dance party in your living room. Nothing beats Madonna's Immaculate Collection, but anything that gets you pumped is perfect.
4. Help out - volunteer at a local animal shelter, or anywhere else in your neighborhood that needs you.
3. Books - "check 'em out" - The library should be the most happening place on earth right now (just be sure to keep your voice down).
2. Swap it out - have a clothing/purse/shoe or book/music/movie exchange with friends. It's a free and fun way to make one person's trash into your treasure.
1. Rattle it out - Rattlebox cards are a totally free, totally fun way to say thank you, happy birthday, or simply to say hi. Who has $3.00 for a card and another .43 (or is it .44?) for a stamp?! And with the video uploader, the possibilities are truly endless.
All right, we're off to volunteer while dancing to Madonna, reading library books and wearing other people's clothes. Right after we send a bunch of Rattlebox cards.

A New Day
In honor of today's change in US administration, we'd like to highlight a few changes that are happening on the Rattlebox site. We hope you've had a chance to try out the new video uploader - it's a fantastic addition to the arsenal of tools on the Rattlebox website, and a whole new way of sharing your life with friends and family. In short, it doesn't suck.
You also may notice a few cosmetic changes on the main page. We are constantly working to make sure the site is fresh and user-friendly. We'd love to hear your feedback on what is and isn't working for you - please feel free to "rattle us" anytime at rattleus@rattlebox.com.
